Bio
Americana singer-songwriter, Gabrielle Sterbenz, has performed her music in 49 US States, Canada, the UK and EU, and Australia, often opening for the band, Wheatus (of “Teenage Dirtbag” fame), of which she’s a longtime member.
Gabrielle was 3 years old when she realized she wanted to sing professionally, but it wasn’t until high school that she would start performing publicly. She joined her Long Island high school’s Gospel Choir and became a soloist. After graduating early, Gabrielle headed to NYC. While writing and recording her own music, she made ends meet as a backing vocalist, with stints on The Tonight Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, as a backing vocalist for Robbie Dupree (Steal Away), and as a sideman for Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing).
In 2023, Gabrielle released her original song "Feels Like Christmas" on Wheatus' Sony-released Christmas EP; and penned the lyrics to a cheeky Christmas version of Teenage Dirtbag. In December of 2025, Gabrielle sang a duet with Ed Sheeran, when Wheatus joined him for an intimate Christmas concert benefitting Bowery Mission. Gabrielle is currently releasing songs from her second studio album, “Icky Guy,” which she made with producer, Philip A. Jimenez, in Huntington, NY, the very town where she got her start singing.
